Yes, for travelling to Suriname a visa (Tourism Card) is required. You can register for a visa at VFS Global. We recommend buying the visa after booking your flight, as flight information is needed for the application. You can find the visa FAQ here. Still having problems with applying? Proof of vaccination for YELLOW FEVER
Travellers who are arriving within 6 (six) days after leaving from or transiting countries with risk of yellow fever transmission need to present a YELLOW FEVER Certificate.
The Yellow Fever certificate must be issued at least 10 (ten) days before arrival in Suriname.

The Surinamese dollar has been the currency of Suriname since 2004. It is divided into 100 cent. The Surinamese dollar is normally abbreviated with $ or Sr$ to distinguish it from other dollar-denominated currencies. Dutch is the official language with 80-90% speaking it as a first or second language. Alongside Sranan Tongo (Surinamese Creole), Sarnami (Surinamese Hindustani), Surinamese-Javanese and different Maroon languages. Most people understand and speak basic English.

As the dry season comes to a close, early November brings a subtle shift in the weather. Daytime temperatures continue to warm up, reaching highs of around 29°C (84°F). Mornings and evenings remain pleasantly mild, with lows ranging from 22°C (72°F) to 24°C (75°F). Expect occasional gentle breezes and partly cloudy skies, with an average of 7-8 hours of sunshine per day. Early November is an excellent time to visit Paramaribo, with comfortable temperatures and minimal rain making it ideal for outdoor activities and exploring the city’s vibrant culture.
Conference
Suriname Decentralized is a two day conference with side events giving an opportunity to learn more about Bitcoin and Nostr freedom tools, what they are, how to use them and how they can help the evolution of Suriname.
There will also be plenty of opportunity to meet and chat with others joining us on Surinames journey. If you have an interest in money, social media, the internet or freedom then this is the event for you.
The conference will be in the Ballroom of Torarica centered. We also recommend booking your stay there.
The conference will be held in English.
Entry to the two days of conference including tea and coffees, 7-8 Nov at the Royal Torarica and evening event on 7 Nov. The evening event on 8 Nov and events on 9 Nov are available as add-ons to your ticket.

No sorry, all ticket sales are final, however if all tickets are sold we will endeavour to re-sell your ticket for you. You are free to sell it to others, please remember to email us about any name changes.
Yes, we will be liaising with local restaurants, you will be able to pre-order your lunch during registration and visit the restaurant during the lunch break to eat and pay for your food.
